Books for Buddies aims to collect more than 1000 gently used and new books to be donated to the Library District's resell outlets; each year, more than $250,000 is raised by the Library District Foundation through the resale outlets at various Library branches and is used to support community-based library programs.  Trails Village Center chose the Library District as the recipient of the Books 4 Buddies program in recognition of Make A Difference Day, which the Center will participate in with the Books 4 Buddies efforts.

During ArtWalk (Sat. & Sun. Oct. 23 & 24, 2010), donations will be accepted at the Kids Art Park area; each child who donates a book will receive a free bandana to recognize their support of our libraries.  Additionally, children who donate will be given the chance to decorate book shelves which will also be donated to the Library District and used in their resell outlets - a permanent  example of community support for reading.  If you simply cannot hold on to your donations until ArtWalk, please visit the Summerlin Library or your local library branch to donate books prior to ArtWalk.
